WHAT IS GHK-CU?

GHK-CU (Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine-Copper) is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide found endogenously in human plasma, saliva, and urine. MW: 340.38 Da as the free peptide; 403.93 Da as the Cu(II) complex. First isolated from human plasma albumin by Loren Pickart (1973). The copper(II) ion coordinates with the glycine amino terminus, histidine imidazole nitrogen, and lysine amine in a square planar coordination geometry. This compound is supplied in synthetic research-grade form chemically identical in sequence to the endogenous peptide, produced via SPPS.

Note: At 50mg per vial, this product offers higher compound concentration than standard research-grade GHK-CU 50mg offerings, IGF-1 LR3 1mg, enabling higher-volume experimental protocols or multiple reconstituted aliquots per vial.

MECHANISM OF ACTION IN PRECLINICAL MODELS

ECM Remodelling — MMP Regulation: GHK-CU 50mg has been studied in dermal fibroblast cultures for modulation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs), regulators of extracellular matrix turnover in wound healing model systems.
Collagen Synthesis Pathway: Type I and Type III collagen production modulation via TGF-β signalling in dermal fibroblast cell culture models.
Angiogenesis: VEGF-mediated angiogenic signalling pathway activation observed in wound model tissue systems.
Gene Expression: A 2012 genomics analysis (PMID: 22214857) identified GHK-CU 50mg influence on expression of 31% of genes associated with tissue remodelling pathways in skin fibroblast models.

Storage Instructions:

Our products are manufactured using lyophilization (freeze-drying), ensuring stability for shipping and storage at room temperature for 3–4 months. Lyophilization involves freezing the peptides and applying low pressure to sublimate water from solid to gas, resulting in a stable, crystalline white powder (lyophilized peptide).

  • Before Reconstitution: Store lyophilized peptides in a cool, dark place. For short-term storage (days to weeks), refrigeration at 4°C (39°F) is sufficient. For long-term storage (months to years), freezing at -80°C (-112°F) is recommended to maintain stability.
  • After Reconstitution: Once mixed with bacteriostatic water, peptides must be refrigerated at 4°C (39°F) and used within 30 days to ensure stability. Keep them protected from light.
